PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT YOU FROM COVID-19:
Dentists have always been careful to avoid the spread of infections in our offices. We have always worn gloves and masks and carefully sterilized our instruments. Now, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic we are taking the following extra precautions to protect us all:
- Masks must be worn upon entering our office building
- All patients and staff are screened for fever and symptoms before every shift
- All staff assess themselves daily and stay home if they are sick or if anyone in their home is sick
- We are minimizing the number of patients in our waiting room
- If a patient must wait in the waiting room they are to maintain 2 m (6 feet) physical distance
- You will notice no books, magazines or brochures in the waiting room
- You will be asked screening questions on the phone before your appointment
- All visitors to our office including delivery personnel are screened
You can help by:
- Rescheduling your appointment if you become sick, have been in contact with a case of Covid-19, are placed on self-isolation or have travelled out of the province within the last 14 days
- Attending appointments alone (where possible) and not bringing friends or family
- Maintaining 2 m (6 feet) physical distance in the waiting room
- Practicing good hand hygiene
- Always being careful to avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
When you arrive at our office:
- You will be asked to use hand sanitizer
- We will record your temperature
- You will be asked to complete a Covid-19 Screening Questionnaire
- You will notice plexiglass barriers at our front desk
- Our staff thoroughly disinfect surfaces at front desk and waiting room frequently
You will notice that the endodontists and dental assistants may be wearing extra personal protective equipment for specific types of procedures.
